The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Kusimuki. The African misses with a straight left. No luck with that takedown attempt from The African. A clash of legs there as Kusimuki blocks the low kick. Kusimuki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of The African's head. The African misses the shot to the body. The African has a takedown stuffed. The African scores with a body shot.
The African looks to throw the jab but Kusimuki is out of range. The African lands a lovely overhand right. Kusimuki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. The African fails to land the takedown. Takeshi Kusimuki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Baako The African. Kusimuki connects with a good right hand that stumbles The African. The African circles away out of range and recomposes himself. The African doesn't manage to clinch there - Kusimuki circles away.
Kusimuki takes the fight into the clinch. The African tries to circle away but Kusimuki has him pinned against the cage. Kusimuki is working The African over against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The African is trying to break the clinch but Kusimuki has him pressed against the cage. The African looks gassed! Kusimuki lands with a light punch inside. A short right from Kusimuki on the inside. The African has had enough of the clinch but Kusimuki keeps him there for the moment. The African drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Still in the clinch, Kusimuki scores with a nice short uppercut. The African wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The African seems to have recovered his senses. Kusimuki lands on the inside with an uppercut. Kusimuki lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops The African to his knees! Kusimuki keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
