Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bart Simpson! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper moves into the clinch. Cooper controlling the action here for a moment.
Cooper gets through Simpson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Cooper throws a head punch that misses. Cooper lands a left hand that snaps the head of Simpson backwards. Cooper lands a right hand that snaps the head of Simpson backwards. Cooper gets underhooks to prevent Simpson's takedown attempt.
Cooper swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cooper digs a right hand underneath Simpson's ribcage. Simpson let out a lung full of air as it connected. Come on Cooper - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Cooper. Cooper is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Cooper content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Cooper scores with a shoulder strike. Cooper swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Cooper lands a right hand. Cooper lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Cooper works on Simpson's body with a couple of short punches. Cooper lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Cooper lands an uppercut. Cooper has Simpson pressed against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jack Cooper. Simpson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cooper avoids it really well and circles away. Jack Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bart Simpson. Simpson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cooper sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simpson somewhat. Jack Cooper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper thuds a left hand into Simpson's body. Cooper gets caught flat footed, as Simpson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Simpson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cooper works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cooper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simpson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cooper is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Simpson postures up in Cooper's guard and throws a big left but Cooper blocks it. Cooper manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Cooper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Simpson. Cooper displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Simpson. Cooper lands a slapping body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooper moves into range and clinches up with Simpson. Cooper stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Cooper gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Cooper is pressed up against the cage. Simpson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cooper down to the mat. Cooper avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Simpson shoots for a double leg takedown but Cooper sprawls well. He's pushed Simpson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cooper wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simpson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cooper wants to clinch up but Simpson keeps it at a distance. Cooper is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cooper lands a jab to Simpson's midsection. Cooper tries to clinch but Simpson moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cooper is pushing Simpson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. A nice left hand lands by Cooper.

Cooper is pressed up against the cage. Simpson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cooper down to the mat. Cooper avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Cooper clinches. Simpson can't get the takedown.

Simpson is trying to drag Cooper to the mat but Cooper just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cooper lands a left hand that snaps the head of Simpson backwards. Simpson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cooper fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cooper stuffs the takedown. Cooper moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Cooper throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Cooper moves into the clinch. Cooper digs a right hand into Simpson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Simpson's gas tank. Cooper working some nice short punches in the clinch. Simpson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cooper prevents it.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Cooper. Still in the clinch, Cooper scores with a nice short uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Cooper dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Cooper dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Simpson is defended easily by Cooper. Cooper digs a good hook to Simpson's body.
Cooper thuds a left hand into Simpson's body. The fighters circle momentarily. Cooper darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Simpson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper tries to clinch up. Cooper closes the distance and clinches. Cooper lands with a short head shot on the inside. Cooper lands a shoulder strike. Simpson tightens his grip and picks Cooper up, before dumping him to the ground. Cooper manages to land in guard. Cooper is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Cooper just leaning against Simpson, taking a breather. Cooper working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Cooper's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. A body shot lands from Cooper.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Simpson goes for a takedown attempt but Cooper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jack Cooper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Simpson takes a shot right to the bread basket. Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simpson, pushing him back against the cage. Simpson is working for takedown but Cooper is calmly controlling the position for now. Jack Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bart Simpson. Cooper stalling against the cage.
Simpson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cooper pulls his leg out and moves away.
Simpson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cooper.

Simpson fails with the takedown. Cooper is looking to wear down Simpson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Cooper lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Simpson fails with a takedown attempt. Jack Cooper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Simpson tries for a takedown but Cooper sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cooper thuds a left hand into Simpson's body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cooper bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Simpson's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Cooper showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cooper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
