Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Manalow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Manalow!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sapp shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sapp postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Manalow wants to sweep but no luck.

Manalow wriggles free and stands up.
Manalow scores with a jab to the body.
Manalow closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sapp circles away.
Manalow lands with a shot to the body.
Sapp takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sapp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Manalow tries to avoid it but Sapp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Manalow to the ground. Manalow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sapp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sapp is breathing heavily.

Manalow tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sapp wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Manalow pushes Sapp away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sapp gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Sapp is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Manalow has escaped the position, nice work there.

Manalow explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Sapp looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Manalow throws a jab when Sapp was well out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manalow scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Sapp shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Manalow's guard.
Sapp is pushing down on Manalow's leg trying to pass to half guard. Manalow is fighting to maintain full guard but Sapp has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sapp throwing shots but Manalow is blocking nicely.
Sapp tries to pass the half guard into mount. Manalow knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Sapp looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Manalow with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sapp not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sapp is thwarting Manalow's attempts to control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sapp connects with a nice short shot to Manalow's temple.
Sapp uses his free foot to push down on Manalow's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Manalow.

It looks like Lance Manalow has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sapp lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Manalow hang on?
Sapp is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sapp cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Sapp thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Manalow is still in real trouble! Can Sapp finish him?

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Manalow seems to have recovered his senses.
Manalow's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Sapp is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Manalow is trying to escape the mount.
Manalow is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Manalow is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sapp won't let Manalow get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sapp throwing strikes here but Manalow is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Manalow is looking to improve his position but Sapp isn't that keen on the idea.
Sapp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That has opened up Lance Manalow's cut even more.
Sapp fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Lance Manalow's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lance Manalow's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Robert Sapp!
