Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evan Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waters's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, No More Mr. Nice Guy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Crunch! Waters slams his shin into Rojas's torso.
Waters misses with a wild body shot.
Evan Waters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rojas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rojas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rojas thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Rojas trying to control but Waters is having none of it.
Waters is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Waters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Waters tries to get out of the position.

Rojas lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Waters is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rojas unloads with some shots from mount but Waters bucks and avoids them well.
Waters keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Waters is looking to improve his position but Rojas isn't that keen on the idea.

Rojas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Waters is on top in guard.

Waters wants to stand but Rojas has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Waters wants to pass the guard but Rojas is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Waters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rojas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Waters swings for the body but Rojas moves out of range.
Evan Waters is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Waters throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice defenses there by Rojas.
Waters moves forwards but Rojas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Waters misses the shot to the body.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rojas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Rojas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Waters keeps working.
Rojas thows a huge punch but Waters dodges it nicely.

Paul Rojas dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Waters stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Paul Rojas has been cut.

Waters lands with an uppercut that bounces Rojas off the cage and back into rage.

Rojas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Waters.

Waters feints and then cracks Rojas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rojas down.
Waters misses with an uppercut. Rojas saw that one coming.
Waters tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rojas was well out of range. Poor timing from Waters.
Waters thows a body shot but no joy.
Rojas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Waters as he avoids it easily.

Waters throws a chopping leg kick but Rojas manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Rojas lands with a shot to the body.
Rojas takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Rojas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Waters as he jumps to the side.
Evan Waters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rojas.

and Rojas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rojas.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Waters tries to hold on but Rojas pushes him away.
Rojas trying to control but Waters is having none of it.

Rojas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Waters manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rojas avoids the body shot from Waters.
Waters swings for the body but Rojas moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Paul Rojas's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Waters misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A slow jab from Waters misses its intended target.
Waters scoring well with a low kick there.
Waters on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rojas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Waters moves out of range as Rojas strikes.
Rojas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Waters throws out a loose jab but Rojas uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Rojas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Waters won't be happy with that.
Waters tries to buck Rojas off but Rojas is having none of it.
Rojas misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The strikes coming from Rojas are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Rojas throws a strike aimed at the side of Waters's head but Waters avoids it well.
Waters is trying to improve his position.
Rojas throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Waters avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rojas slips under a jab from Waters.
Waters moves into range and connects with a jab.
Waters fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Waters lands with a hook. Rojas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
No joy there for Waters, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rojas is trying desperately to improve position.

Paul Rojas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rojas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
