Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Bijanek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers comes to the cage accompanied by rocky its a fight. Bijanek has chosen Avenir Struga as his entrance music. Yuri Bijanek told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bijanek moves into the clinch.
Mathers misses with the head strike.
Bijanek lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Mathers is trying to break the clinch but Bijanek has him pressed against the cage.
Mathers throws a punch but it's blocked by Bijanek.

Bijanek's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bijanek throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bijanek avoids a punch combination nicely.

Mathers throws out a leg kick but Bijanek moves out of range and Mathers only half commits.
Bijanek shoots for a takedown but Mathers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

No joy there for Bijanek, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mathers looks to land a body kick but Bijanek moved away.
Mathers throws a series of punches but Bijanek avoids them all with ease.

Mathers throws a nice looking combination but Bijanek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mathers pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Bijanek cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mathers lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bijanek has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bijanek and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Bijanek moves into the clinch.
Bijanek lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Mathers doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mathers throws a head punch that misses.
Mathers drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bijanek gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mathers has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Mathers fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Bijanek manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bijanek not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bijanek might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mathers kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Bijanek has his foot on Mathers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mathers works his way back into a safe position though.

Bijanek looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mathers is one step ahead there.
Bijanek is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bijanek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mathers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bijanek is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bijanek thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mathers's head.

Bijanek throws a right hand that Mathers ducks under and follows up with a left that Mathers also avoids with ease.
Mathers throws a sloppy head kick and Bijanek moves out of range easily.
Bijanek closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mathers circles away.

and Bijanek counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Mathers drops Bijanek with a beautiful combination! Bijanek stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mathers is looking for the KO!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mathers is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Bijanek hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
