1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jakub Kowalewski II! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Kowalewski II moves out of range easily. Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Kowalewski II, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Kowalewski II moves out of range easily. Kowalewski II keeps the fight on the outside. Lee misses with a head kick.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kowalewski II cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kowalewski II closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kowalewski II working away. Kowalewski II advances to mount. Lee tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lee is in a horrible position here. Kowalewski II smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kowalewski II's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kowalewski II's back! Lee tries to keep control of the position but Kowalewski II is staying busy. Kowalewski II rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lee drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kowalewski II manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lee has Kowalewski II in his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kowalewski II wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving. Kowalewski II wanted to stand there but Lee had control of the position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kowalewski II defends well. Lee throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
