Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between JJ Carney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Snowdon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carney comes into the arena with Go Ham On Em' blaring out of the sound system. Snowdon has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Dave Snowdon looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, JJ Carney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Snowdon! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carney closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Snowdon to the mat! Snowdon manages to get full guard. Snowdon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Carney gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Carney throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Carney throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carney missing with a left hand there. Snowdon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Carney misses with a low kick.
Snowdon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carney stands up and waves to Snowdon to follow him. Carney drives through and clinches with Snowdon against the cage.
Carney has had enough of the clinch but Snowdon keeps him there for the moment. Carney is leaning against Snowdon and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Come on Carney - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carney grinds an elbow into Snowdon's temple. Carney decides to stand up, so the ref orders Snowdon to his feet. Carney shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Snowdon's guard. Carney works over Snowdon with some ground and pound from guard. Carney decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A head kick from Snowdon lands but Carney takes it in his stride. Carney decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Snowdon is trying to maintain the position but Carney is very close to passing his half guard.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nice strikes from Carney there. Snowdon is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carney gets to his feet - back to striking we go! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Snowdon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carney.

Carney steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Snowdon. That one must have hurt. Carney stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carney wants it to stay on the feet. Carney scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Snowdon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carney is working away from the top position though. Snowdon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
