Iacono comes to the cage accompanied by Kataklysm - Crippled & Broken. Maurizio Iacono could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Benoit Giguere's chin.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iacono is looking to clinch.
Iacono moves in looking to clinch but Giguere pushes him off.
Iacono fails to land the takedown.
Iacono slips a jab and a cross from Giguere.
Iacono works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Iacono is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Maurizio Iacono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Giguere.
Giguere jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Iacono throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No luck for Iacono with that takedown attempt.
Giguere misses with a wild body shot.
Iacono shoots in for a takedown but Giguere shows good takedown defense.

Iacono loads up on a big right hand but Giguere slips the punch.
Giguere shoots for a double leg takedown but Iacono sprawls well. He's pushed Giguere's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Iacono throws a hook to the side of Giguere's head but Giguere sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Iacono, as that shot connected.
Iacono scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Iacono misses with a two punch combination.
Nice shot lands for Iacono.
Iacono tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Giguere is able to avoid easily.
Iacono throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Giguere has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Giguere there as he acknowledges the shot.
Iacono tries to close the distance and clinch up but Giguere swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Iacono misses with a body shot
and Giguere cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Iacono tries to bum rush Giguere with a series of wild strikes but Giguere uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Iacono rushes Giguere and presses him up against the cage.
Giguere lands a right hand.
A short body shot lands from Iacono as the two fighters clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Iacono.
Giguere looks gassed!
A right handed body shot lands from Iacono.
Iacono lands a body punch.
Iacono manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Iacono looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Iacono changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Giguere looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Giguere is not content to let Iacono control the position.

Iacono fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sloppy strikes there by Iacono.
Iacono has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Iacono wants to control for a moment but Giguere uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Iacono thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Iacono is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Giguere!
Giguere tries to hold on but Iacono pushes him away.
Giguere tries to reverse the position but Iacono maintains control.
Iacono tries to control but Giguere wriggling away.
Giguere takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Iacono sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Giguere can't escape the position.
Iacono looking to ground and pound but Giguere is blocking nicely.
Iacono controlling the pace for now.
Giguere is in all sorts of trouble here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Iacono looks for a takedown but Giguere sprawls well.
Giguere throws a looping overhand right but Iacono ducks down to avoid it.

Iacono digs a right hand underneath Giguere's ribcage. Giguere let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Iacono escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Giguere is breathing heavily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Iacono scores with a sloppy right hand. Giguere should have avoided that one.

Iacono is looking to take a break and control but Giguere is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Iacono advances nicely into full mount.

Iacono postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Giguere badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Iacono around the waist but Iacono pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Iacono is the winner by TKO! Iacono jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
