Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rarpo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Springs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Springs is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rarpo Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nate Springs! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Springs takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Springs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rarpo Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie throws a jab when Springs was well out of range. Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Springs manages to get back to half guard. Springs is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Springs manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie advances position into side control! Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Springs keeps working. Springs gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gracie tries to control but Springs wriggling away. Gracie working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Springs really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gracie working for a submission but Springs is keeping him at bay. Springs tries to reverse the position but Gracie maintains control. Gracie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Springs's face.
Gracie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Springs is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Springs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie wants to control the pace but Springs is squirming around nicely. Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Springs is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie. Springs is looking to get to half guard. Gracie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Springs to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Springs shrugs it off. Springs manages to regain half guard. Good work. Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Springs moves into full guard.
Springs not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie passes Springs's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gracie wants to pass to mount but Springs is defending the position. Springs is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back! Springs is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Springs wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy. Springs working for the choke. Springs looks gassed! Springs is trying to stick to Gracie's back but Gracie is turning into Springs. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Springs's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gracie.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is stalling in the full guard. Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Springs slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard. Springs wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Springs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. Springs wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie trying to control the position.

Rarpo Gracie dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Springs moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Springs looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Springs manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Springs trying to control but Gracie is having none of it. Springs wants to take Gracie's back here but Gracie is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Gracie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Springs wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely. Springs is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Springs wants to take Gracie's back but he can't do it this time. Springs is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gracie has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Springs is looking to work his way around to Gracie's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Gracie is wriggling around trying to escape.
Springs wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely. Gracie sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Springs uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie. Springs trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gracie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie gets back to half guard. Gracie won't allow Springs to pass to mount. Springs is thwarting Gracie's attempts to control the position. Springs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well. Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Springs's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Springs's back! Springs defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Springs turns into Gracie and is now in his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Springs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Springs drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Springs has Gracie in his guard. Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Springs looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Springs looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Springs! Springs tries to move to mount but Gracie blocks the move with his legs. Gracie is trying to control Springs's posture but Springs avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rarpo Gracie dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Gracie tried to score with a low kick but Springs checks it. Springs lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Springs shows good takedown defense. Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Springs which made him look bad. Springs has Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Springs lands a hook that snaps the head of Gracie backwards. Springs scores with a shoulder strike. Springs gets underhooks to prevent Gracie's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rarpo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Springs lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Springs throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gracies head. A right hook to the body lands for Springs.
A left hand lands to the body for Springs.
Springs lands an uppercut. Springs lands with a short shot to the head. Springs working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Springs creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Springs lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gracie. Springs works on Gracie's body with a couple of short punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Springs lands a shoulder strike. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A shot in the inside from Springs. Good body shot from Springs.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right from Springs. Springs digs a right hand underneath Gracie's ribcage. Gracie let out a lung full of air as it connected. A body shot lands from Springs.
Springs lands with a right to the head. A nice left hand lands by Springs.
Springs scores with a shoulder strike. Springs lands a shoulder strike. Springs lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Springs makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Springs lands an uppercut.
Gracie is rocked! Springs throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie. Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Springs working aggressively here.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now. Gracie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Springs fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Springs connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Gracie tumbling to the canvas! Springs pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Gracie was done - good stoppage!
