The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henrique gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maya drops back looking for a leg! Henrique is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Henrique manages to kick Maya off! Maya jumps back into Henrique's guard.
Maya drops back, looking for a kneebar! Henrique looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Henrique looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Henrique!
Maya gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Maya tries to roll over but Henrique keeps him under control.
Maya is looking to control Henrique's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Maya avoid being mounted?
Maya is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Henrique's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Henrique's back!
Henrique is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Maya gets his way!

Maya is hanging on to Henrique's back as he tries to escape.

Maya is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Henrique has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Maya has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Henrique taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Maya doesn't care though - he's delighted!
