1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Wilson Fonseca! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson Fonseca wants to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Wilson Fonseca looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Beuys fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wilson Fonseca on the side of the head. Beuys scores with the left hand. Wilson Fonseca knows he should have avoided that one. Wilson Fonseca fails with a takedown attempt. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wilson Fonseca checks a leg kick. Wilson Fonseca tries to close the distance and clinch up but Beuys swats him away and circles back towards the center. Beuys tries a low kick but Wilson Fonseca avoids it. Wilson Fonseca shoots for a takedown but Beuys saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Beuys scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wilson Fonseca in his tracks.
It looks like Jose Wilson Fonseca has been cut. Wilson Fonseca is looking to clinch but Beuys is avoiding it.
Beuys bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Wilson Fonseca looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Beuys keeps the fight on the outside. Wilson Fonseca shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beuys as he avoids it easily. Hans Beuys has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Wilson Fonseca. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hans Beuys. Wilson Fonseca doesn't manage to clinch there - Beuys circles away.
Beuys is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wilson Fonseca gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Beuys counters with a single leg into guard. Wilson Fonseca didn't expect that. Beuys stops Wilson Fonseca from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson Fonseca being controlled here, momentarily. Wilson Fonseca takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Beuys clobbers Wilson Fonseca with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Good work by Wilson Fonseca as he checks the leg kick. Beuys scores with a hook to the body. Wilson Fonseca takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wilson Fonseca takes a shot right to the bread basket. Beuys drives through with a takedown into guard. Wilson Fonseca is breathing heavily. Beuys's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Beuys looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Beuys forces his way into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beuys is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Beuys's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Beuys wants to pass to mount but Wilson Fonseca is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Beuys controlling the action here.

Wilson Fonseca with a lazy takedown attempt and Beuys counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Wilson Fonseca. Wilson Fonseca with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Beuys to score with a decent uppercut. Beuys punishes Wilson Fonseca's body with a nice straight punch. Wilson Fonseca tries for a takedown but Beuys circles away easily and Beuys counters with a nice uppercut. Hans Beuys is winning the standup battle so far. Beuys lands a really nice looking cross but Wilson Fonseca seems unphased.
Wilson Fonseca is rocked! Beuys is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Beuys fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Wilson Fonseca to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Wilson Fonseca looks to clinch but Beuys throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Wilson Fonseca taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
