Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gustavo Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fedor Zheldov!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro throws a head kick but Zheldov moves out of range.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zheldov but Zheldov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ribeiro instigates a clinch.
Ribeiro trying to control the position but instead, Zheldov has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ribeiro into the cage.
Ribeiro drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zheldov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zheldov clinches up with Ribeiro and pushes him back against the cage.
Zheldov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ribeiro uses from the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zheldov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ribeiro is working to get back to half guard.
Zheldov blocks Ribeiro's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Ribeiro is in a horrible position here. Zheldov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
It looks like Gustavo Ribeiro has been cut.
Zheldov putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Ribeiro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zheldov on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ribeiro takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Zheldov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zheldov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gustavo Ribeiro's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gustavo Ribeiro's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Fedor Zheldov!
