Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Welbeck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anders Melin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Welbeck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anders Melin! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Welbeck fails to land the takedown. Melin moves out of range of the strikes. Welbeck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Welbeck. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Welbeck. That's going to take a lot out of him. Melin tries to keep at a distance but Welbeck has taken the fight into the clinch. Melin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Melin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Welbeck is trying to control the position but Melin postures up. Welbeck preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Welbeck working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Melin. Melin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Melin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Melin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Melin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Melin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Melin cracks Welbeck with a solid left hand. Melin landing some decent shots from guard. Welbeck utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Welbeck is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Melin is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Melin with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Melin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Melin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Melin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Melin postures up in Welbeck's guard and throws a big left but Welbeck blocks it. Welbeck utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Melin looks gassed! That's two minutes gone in the round. Welbeck is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Melin defends well. Melin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Melin is working Welbeck over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Melin landing with the ground and pound. Melin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Welbeck throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Melin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Welbeck has momentary wrist control but Melin slips an elbow through the middle. Melin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Welbeck looking for a sweep. Not yet Welbeck, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Melin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Melin lands a couple of decent looking shots. Melin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Welbeck shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Melin as he avoids it easily. Nice takedown defense from Melin. No joy for Welbeck on that attempt. Melin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Welbeck sprawls well. Welbeck wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Melin gets slowly back to his feet. Welbeck shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Melin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Welbeck's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Welbeck is pulling down on Melin's head to control his posture. Melin works over Welbeck with some ground and pound from guard. Melin is looking to work some ground and pound but Welbeck has wrist control. Melin connects with a couple of short punches. Melin lands a couple of elbows. Welbeck trying to keep a closed guard but Melin is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Melin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anders Melin dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Welbeck gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Melin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Melin's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Melin postures up and lands a big shot to Welbeck's brow. Melin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Melin is in close to Welbeck's body, working some short punches and elbows. Welbeck pushes Melin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Welbeck's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Welbeck duly obliges. Welbeck wants to clinch and Melin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Welbeck taking some punishment here, with Melin in his half guard. Welbeck gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Melin throwing strikes from guard but Welbeck blocks nicely. Welbeck trying to control the position.
Melin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Welbeck's head. Welbeck doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Melin is in close to Welbeck's body, working some short punches and elbows. Melin postures up and lands a big shot to Welbeck's brow. Melin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Welbeck works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Melin throws a big right hand that misses.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Welbeck slaps away a takedown attempt from Melin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Welbeck with a poor takedown and Melin counters with a shoot takedown. Welbeck fights it but they end up in guard. Melin scoring with some ground and pound. Melin landing some decent shots from guard. Welbeck manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Welbeck is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Melin is surviving well by controlling Welbeck's body position as best he can. Welbeck goes for an armbar but Melin turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Melin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Melin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Welbeck's head. Melin throws and elbow that misses. Welbeck uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Melin's guard. Nice move by Welbeck! Welbeck wants to control from the top but Melin keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anders Melin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Welbeck with a lazy takedown attempt and Melin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Welbeck's guard. Melin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Melin lands a couple of digs. Anders Melin has got the better of the ground game so far. Melin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Melin scoring with some ground and pound. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Welbeck holds on and takes a little breather. Melin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Melin stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Welbeck has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Melin manages to get his head free but now Welbeck has transitioned to an armbar! Melin grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Welbeck! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
