Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Graham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micky Graham will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddy Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Micky Graham!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Slater avoiding damage as Graham throws knees to the body.
Slater managing to block the knees to the body from Graham.
Graham is trying to break free.
Graham tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A frustrated look appears on Graham's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Slater is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Graham tries to land knees in the clinch but Slater avoids the damage to the body.
Graham crunches a lovely knee into Slater's ribcage.
Slater jumps guard but Graham stands there with Slater around his waist. Slater gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Slater lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Graham backwards.
Nice elbow from Graham.
Slater blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Graham misses with a knee strike.
Graham is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Slater is defending well for now.
Slater keeps control of Graham as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Graham throws a knee to the head but misses.
Slater on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Graham landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Slater misses with a hook from the clinch.

Slater is trying to drag Graham to the mat but Graham just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddy Slater. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Slater lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Slater content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slater is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Slater is trying to work for a kimura but Graham is defending well.

Slater scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Graham blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slater.
Slater thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Graham's head.
Slater content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Slater is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Graham reverses the position - he's now on top in Slater's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Slater holds on and takes a little breather.
Graham looks gassed!

Slater wants to sweep here but Graham controlling him for the moment.
Slater is pulling down on Graham's head. It's preventing any offense from Graham, at least for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Slater wriggles free and stands up.

Slater looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Graham!

Slater is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Graham to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Graham shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy Slater dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Slater pushes Graham up against the cage in a clinch.
Graham unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Slater has had enough of the clinch but Graham keeps him there for the moment.
Graham with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Slater on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Slater pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Micky Graham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slater shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Graham napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Slater is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Graham knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Slater takes a little break here. Graham wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Graham is breathing heavily.

Slater works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Slater trying to control the position but Graham is working away.
Slater advances nicely into full mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Slater breaks from Graham's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Slater fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Slater controlling the position easily from mount.

Slater cracks Graham with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Slater with a couple of short strikes.
Graham is in a horrible position here. Slater smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
BOOM! Slater connects with a massive shot to the dome!


Graham is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slater working the ground and pound effectively.
Graham is still in real trouble! Can Slater finish him?
Slater landing punches.

Slater sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Graham seems to have recovered his senses.
Slater with a couple of short strikes.
Freddy Slater overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slater tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Slater looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slater landing strikes from the mount.
Slater postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Graham looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy Slater dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Graham takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Slater has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Slater jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Graham manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Freddy Slater.

Slater closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Slater connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Graham some visible discomfort.
Slater controls the position.
Check out the look on Slater's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Slater advances to mount.
Slater is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Graham can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Slater has hold of Graham's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Graham manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Slater lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Freddy Slater is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Slater tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Freddy Slater showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slater, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
