Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Crug! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Stolz! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crug is looking to clinch. Stolz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A swing and a miss from Stolz. Stolz fails with the takedown. Stolz keeps the fight on the outside. Stolz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Stolz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Crug missing with punches from the bottom.
Crug is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stolz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stolz's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crug missing with strikes from the back. Crug throwing strikes and Stolz squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted. Crug throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Stolz wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Crug.
Stolz holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Crug tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crug has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Stolz's face.
Stolz is trying desperately to improve position. Stolz looks gassed! Crug throws some wild stikes that Stolz manages to avoid easily.
Crug has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stolz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Crug throwing strikes here but Stolz is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Crug looking to isolate an arm here. Stolz doesn't see it coming and as Crug extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Crug!
