Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William H Bonney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crusty Pelican (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonney comes to the cage accompanied by Billy Get Your Guns. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crusty Pelican!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelican throws a hook but Bonney avoids it easily.
Pelican feints and then cracks Bonney's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bonney down.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bonney is defended easily by Pelican.

Bonney moves in looking to clinch but Pelican pushes him off.
Pelican throws the kick towards the body but Bonney avoids it.
Pelican throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bonney sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pelican closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bonney is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pelican's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pelican's back!

Bonney is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pelican can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bonney has hold of Pelican's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pelican manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Pelican is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bonney dives in and grabs Pelican's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pelican pushes down on Bonney's head and hops out.

Bonney thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bonney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pelican is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bonney defends well.

Pelican has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonney can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bonney drops back looking for a leg! Pelican is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pelican manages to kick Bonney off! Bonney jumps back into Pelican's guard.

Bonney got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pelican has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bonney has managed to get both his arms back between Pelican's legs - danger averted.

Pelican is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bonney drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bonney jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bonney drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pelican manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bonney has Pelican in his guard.
William H Bonney is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bonney, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
