Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kev Yama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Yama.
Yama misses with a body kick.
Yama moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Yama tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Yama tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it.
Yama wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva keeps the fight on the outside.
Yama shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.

Yama scores with a takedown into Silva's guard.

Yama decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Yama looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Yama persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.

Yama is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Yama shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kev Yama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yama tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Yama wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.
Silva wants to get up but he can't break Yama's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Yama tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Silva postures up.
Yama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Yama lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Yama.

Yama shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
Yama is breathing heavily.

Silva decides to stand back up.
Yama misses with a wild combination.
Yama darts in trying to clinch

and Silva counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Silva.
Yama is looking to sweep but instead, Silva has passed into half guard.

Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Yama to get to his feet.

Yama fails to land with a series of punches.
Yama has his takedown stuffed

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yama wants to control the position but Silva says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Yama works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva stands and steps away. Yama gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Silva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Yama misses with a combination

and Silva counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Yama!

Silva get's back to his feet.
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Yama.

Yama shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
Dan Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.

Yama drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.
Yama tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Yama wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yama wants to control but Silva passes easily into half guard.
Yama tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Silva has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Yama is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yama is working hard here to advance position.
Silva is looking to stand but Silva has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Yama throwing hammer fists to the chest of Silva. What's that going to do exactly?
Yama wants to control but Silva is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yama is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Yama working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yama wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Silva avoids the attempt from Yama to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Yama doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Silva stands up out of the half guard.
Yama throws a push kick but Silva slaps the foot to one side.
Yama misses with a two punch combination.
Silva misses with a takedown

and Yama counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.

Yama drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yama is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yama wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.
Yama wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yama controls the pace.
Silva wants to stand but Yama is controlling the position.

Yama drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yama tries to clinch up.
Yama tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
A punch combination from Yama misses.
Yama scores with a leg kick.
Yama throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silva.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Yama can pounce on him.
Yama closes the distance but Silva moves to the side

and Silva counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Silva.
Silva won't allow Yama to sweep him here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dan Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Silva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
