The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jordan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Jordan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jordan shoots in for a double leg but Jacobs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jacobs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jacobs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jordan blocking the ground and pound. Jordan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jacobs avoids the attempt from Jordan to control. Jordan is desperately trying to improve his position but Jacobs has a good base and remains in mount. Jordan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jacobs working the ground and pound effectively.
Jacobs breaks from Jordan's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jacobs throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jordan because Jacobs loaded up on that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Jordan tries to clinch there but Jacobs circles away.
Jordan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jordan misses with a takedown so Jacobs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Chris Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Jordan. Jordan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jacobs trying to control the position from guard on top but Jordan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jacobs thows a big elbow that misses. Jacobs trying to control but Jordan is working from the bottom. Jacobs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jacobs gets to his feet. Jordan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A bone on bone clash there as Jacobs blocks the leg kick.
Jordan tries to grapple but his opponent circles so Jacobs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jacobs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jacobs trying to control but Jordan is working from the bottom. Jordan is looking for a triangle but Jacobs pushes his legs off easily.
Jordan looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobs stands and throws Jordan's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jordan tries to escape but Jacobs is in control. Jacobs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jacobs stands up. Jordan keeps the fight on the outside. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jacobs. Jordan taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jacobs scoring with punches from side control. Jacobs creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jordan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Jordan defending against the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jordan is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Jacobs working the head and body with strikes. Jacobs working the ground and pound. Jacobs lands a nice forearm strike.
Jordan is rocked! Jacobs is working to tighten is grip on Jordan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jordan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jacobs is really squeezing tight and eventually Jordan passes out! Jacobs breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
