Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Mike Ribeiro enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Ribeiro! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ribeiro looks to land a combination but Liddell avoids it well. Liddell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Liddell wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving. Liddell preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ribeiro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ribeiro throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ribeiro is looking to stand up but Liddell isn't so interested in that idea. Ribeiro has his feet on Liddell's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Ribeiro pushes Liddell up against the cage in a clinch. Ribeiro tries to score a body lock takedown but Liddell shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Liddell wants a takedown but no success here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro just leaning against Liddell, taking a breather. Ribeiro looks gassed! Liddell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A nice combination there by Ribeiro.
Liddell gets a takedown into half guard. Ribeiro trying to get back to full guard but Liddell takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Liddell is landing with some decent strikes but Ribeiro is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Liddell avoids the attempt from Ribeiro to control. Liddell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ribeiro is looking to escape. Ribeiro is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Liddell trying to control but Ribeiro is having none of it. Ribeiro is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell blocks Ribeiro's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Ribeiro working to try and regain half guard.
Ribeiro blocking the ground and pound. Ribeiro tries to reverse the position but Liddell maintains control. Liddell throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Liddell prevents Ribeiro from getting the reversal. Liddell sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro is trying to escape the mount.
Ribeiro avoids a series of strikes thrown by Liddell.
Ribeiro sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Ribeiro wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy and won't allow it. Liddell with the ground and pound but Ribeiro uses the opportunity to regain guard. Liddell postures up.
Liddell is looking to work some ground and pound but Ribeiro has wrist control. Ribeiro wants to sweep here but Liddell controlling him for the moment. Liddell stands up and waves to Ribeiro to follow him. Ribeiro clobbers Liddell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Liddell or perhaps it was just good defense by Ribeiro which made him look bad. Ribeiro takes one to the side of the head.
Ribeiro moves into range and connects with a jab. Ribeiro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Liddell sprawls well initially but Ribeiro persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ribeiro seems to be working for a kimura but Liddell defends the submission attempt. Liddell is trying to get back to full guard. Liddell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Liddell trying to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Liddell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ribeiro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Ribeiro dominated that round. That's time! Liddell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Liddell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ribeiro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Liddell kicks Ribeiro off and gets back to his feet. Ribeiro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Liddell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ribeiro's guard now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ribeiro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Liddell. Ribeiro pushes Liddell off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Liddell fails with the takedown and Ribeiro counters by moving into the clinch. Liddell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ribeiro just stands there and leans against the cage. Liddell tries to pull guard but Ribeiro holds him up against the cage and eventually Liddell drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Liddell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ribeiro pulls Liddell into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ribeiro is on top in guard.
Ribeiro pushes down on Liddell's leg and manages to get into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ribeiro stalling away here and it's allowed Liddell to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Liddell is retaining full guard. Ribeiro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ribeiro missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Liddell can't keep his opponent in guard - Ribeiro advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ribeiro moves nicely into side control. Liddell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ribeiro wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ribeiro moves into full mount! Ribeiro looking for a guillotine from mount but Liddell is having none of it. The referee warns Liddell that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mike Ribeiro has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell is trying to escape the mount.
Liddell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground. Liddell tries to lock up and control but Ribeiro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ribeiro goes for an armbar but Liddell turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Liddell. Liddell lands a couple of digs. Ribeiro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Liddell manages to get himself to full guard.
Ribeiro wants to control from the top but Liddell keeps moving. Ribeiro passes Liddell's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ribeiro stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Liddell to get to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches. Liddell prevents Ribeiro from breaking the clinch. Ribeiro is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ribeiro is trying to stall.
Ribeiro is trying to break free. Ribeiro wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ribeiro wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ribeiro wants to clinch but Liddell slips to the side and Liddell counters with a nice double leg into guard. Ribeiro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Liddell's guard. Ribeiro wants to stand but Liddell has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ribeiro stops Liddell from standing up. Ribeiro chips away with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro stops Liddell from standing up. Ribeiro slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ribeiro tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ribeiro decides to stand up, so the ref orders Liddell to his feet. Ribeiro goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Ribeiro throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Liddell stumbling backwards into the cage! Liddell bounces back off the cage towards Ribeiro, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Ribeiro lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Ribeiro celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
