Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Somerville darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Somerville is controlling the pace.
Alves regains full guard. Nicely done. Alves looking for a sweep. Not yet Alves, not yet. Alves looking for a guillotine here but Somerville defends easily.
Somerville stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alves swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alves looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Alves is breathing heavily. Somerville slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Somerville postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves keeping full guard, as Somerville tries to pass. Alves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Somerville is one step ahead there. Somerville really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Somerville pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alves is keeping the position for now. Somerville drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Somerville jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Somerville closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Somerville trying to control the position but Alves is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Somerville is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alves is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Alves is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Somerville working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Alves is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Somerville's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Somerville tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alves knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Alves wants to improve his position but Somerville is controlling well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Somerville shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Somerville has hold of Alves's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alves manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Alves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Somerville working the ground and pound effectively.
Somerville tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Somerville looking to control but Alves is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Somerville has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Alves's face.
Somerville with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Alves is working hard here to advance position. The referee warns Alves that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Alves is rocked! Somerville wants to finish this one by submission but Alves is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Somerville. Oh Alves is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Somerville fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Somerville goes for an armbar but Alves turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Alves. Somerville looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Somerville is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Somerville has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Alves is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there. Somerville looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Somerville pulls Alves in to control the position. Alves stopping the sweep attempt from Somerville. Somerville is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Somerville can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alves doesn't succeed with the takedown and Somerville counters into the clinch. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Logan Somerville dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Alves tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Somerville counters with a HUGE slam that knocks Alves out cold!!! When he eventually wakes up, that one's gunna hurt!
