Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronaldo Couza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aron Rogers! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Couza closes the distance and clinches up with Rogers, looking for a takedown. Couza pushes Rogers against the cage but Rogers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A combination from Couza does no damage. Couza wants to clinch. Couza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Couza keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Good exchange - Rogers coming out on top. Rogers tries to clinch up but Couza circles away and keeps his distance. Couza getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Rogers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Couza! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rogers throws some wild stikes that Couza manages to avoid easily.
Couza regains half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rogers in particular looking to stall. Rogers is keen to just control but Couza is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Couza avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rogers. Rogers landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Couza regains full guard. Nicely done. Rogers thows a big elbow that misses. Rogers trying to control but Couza is working from the bottom. Rogers with a flurry of punches that miss. Rogers throws and elbow that misses. Couza uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rogers's guard. Nice move by Couza! Couza is fighting to break Rogers's control of his arms but Rogers is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Couza thows a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rogers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Rogers looking to control.
Rogers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Couza is one step ahead there. Couza drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rogers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Couza has Rogers in his guard. Rogers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rogers wants to control from the top but Couza keeps moving. Rogers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers stays in close to Couza's body and controls the position. Rogers trying to control but Couza is working from the bottom. Couza managing to control the position. Rogers throws a strike but Couza rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Couza thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.
Rogers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Couza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rogers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Couza is breathing heavily. Rogers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rogers pushes down on Couza's leg and manages to get into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rogers sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Couza defending well though. Rogers not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Couza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rogers. Ronaldo Couza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Couza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rogers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rogers slips under a jab from Couza. Couza uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rogers. Rogers doesn't manage to clinch there - Couza circles away.

Rogers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rogers cracks Couza with a big elbow. The ground and pound from Rogers seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Couza looks to move to half guard but instead Rogers has passed into mount! Damn! Rogers misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers punching from mount but Couza doing a good job of avoiding damage. Aron Rogers has got the better of the ground game so far. Rogers lands a heavy elbow. Rogers unloading with bombs! Rogers raining down shots from the mount! Rogers has hold of Couza's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Couza manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rogers lands a nice shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Couza is bucking up trying to escape but Rogers cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rogers is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Couza can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
