Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Cahill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. You can't hide, You can't run kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody Cahill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joshua Bravo! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cahill misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cahill rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bravo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Bravo. Cahill is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Bravo working away. Bravo is looking to take a break and control but Cahill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cahill trying to remain calm as Bravo controls from the top position. Cahill tries to bench press Bravo off him but Bravo keeps the position. Bravo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bravo trying to control the action but Cahill is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cahill lands a two punch combo.
Bravo misses with the combination.
Bravo fails to land with a series of punches.
Bravo gets the takedown into side control. Bravo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cahill keeps working. Bravo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. I looks like Bravo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cahill tries to improve position but can't. Bravo trying to control the action but Cahill is working from the bottom. Cahill manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bravo's best efforts. Cahill is looking for a sweep. Bravo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bravo wants to take a breather but Cahill is having none of it. Bravo wants to work for an arm triangle but Cahill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cahill looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cahill tries to roll over but Bravo keeps him under control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bravo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cahill finds it's way round the side to connect with Bravo's head. Cahill misses with a few strikes there.
Cahill fails to land with a series of punches.
Bravo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bravo tries to clinch but Cahill is having none of it. Bravo scores a takedown into full mount! Cahill tries to control the position but Bravo now has his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bravo is looking to control Cahill but Cahill is wriggling around and keeping busy. Bravo controlling well, preventing Cahill from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cahill defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Bravo's arms. Cahill tries to escape but Bravo has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Cahill trying to control the hands but Bravo won't let him. Cahill rolls, trying to escape but Bravo keeps control of the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Bravo controlling the positon. A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Bravo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bravo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cahill circles away. Cahill throws a series of punches but Bravo moves out of range. Bravo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cahill's half guard. Cahill trying to control but Bravo postures up.
Bravo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cahill is just riding it out for now. Bravo eventually gives up the hold. Cahill works his way to full guard. Good work. Bravo tries to free his leg and advance position but Cahill is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cahill is looking for a triangle here but Bravo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Cahill tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bravo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cahill, who protects the arm well. Cahill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bravo on the ground. Cahill is trying to control Bravo's posture but Bravo avoids it. Cahill is not content to let Bravo control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cahill struggling a bit here.

Bravo feints and as Cahill raises his hands in defense, Bravo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bravo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cahill is trying to keep Bravo in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cahill throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bravo uses it to pass to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cahill is letting Bravo control him for a moment. Bravo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cahill keeps working. Cahill manages to get back to half guard. Cahill is not content to let Bravo control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joshua Bravo. Cahill lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bravo circles away quickly and effectively. Bravo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cahill.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cahill tried to score with a low kick but Bravo checks it. Cody Cahill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cahill lands a nice hook to Bravo's body. Bravo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Bravo throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Cahill throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bravo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cahill! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Bravo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Bravo throws a combination that misses and Cahill connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cahill jabbing away but nothing is landing. Bravo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cahill is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cahill keeping moving, preventing Bravo from controlling successfully. Joshua Bravo has got the better of the ground game so far. Cahill escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bravo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cahill looking for a guillotine here but Bravo defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cahill is trying desperately to improve position. Bravo working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Cahill tries to lock up and control but Bravo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bravo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cahill can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Cahill bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Cahill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bravo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cahill trying to control the position from guard on top but Bravo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bravo is trying to keep Cahill in close.
Cahillis looking to pass into half guard but Bravo pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bravo is in guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cahill has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bravo doesn't defend quickly enough and Cahill has managed to lock this one up! Can Bravo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cahill on a fantastic submission victory.
