PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Marv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rye Whiskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marv kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eminem - No Love ft. Lil Wayne . Marv has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Rye Whiskey enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marv fails with a takedown attempt.
Marv is breathing heavily.

Whiskey drives through with a takedown into guard.

Whiskey looking to pass the guard.
Whiskey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Whiskey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marv swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Whiskey is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Whiskey stays in close to Marv's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Whiskey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marv as he jumps to the side.

Whiskey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Whiskey is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Whiskey throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Marv is refusing to be controlled, as Whiskey sits in half guard.
Marv keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Whiskey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Marv does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Marv is staying active underneath Whiskey, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Whiskey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Whiskey is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Marv scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marv takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Marv looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Whiskey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marv. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Whiskey decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Marv's guard.
Whiskey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marv swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rye Whiskey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Marv gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Whiskey to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Rye Whiskey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Whiskey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
