Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juhani Ilves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Juhani Ilves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dave Barrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrera misses with a takedown attempt - Ilves sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barrera could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Barrera fails with the takedown.
Barrera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ilves to the mat! Ilves manages to get full guard.
Ilves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ilves had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barrera is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ilves Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barrera's back instead.
Barrera can't escape the position.
Barrera manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ilves's guard. Nice work there by Barrera.
Barrera wants to control from the top but Ilves keeps moving.

Barrera takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Barrera has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ilves has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Ilves lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Barrera is looking to close the distance but Ilves sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Barrera crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Barrera is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
