Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Brookins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Isaev Ivan! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivan shoots in for a double leg but Brookins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Brookins throws a right and a left that Ivan avoids nicely. Ivan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brookins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ivan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brookins tries to avoid it but Ivan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brookins to the ground. Brookins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Brookins closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brookins lands in his opponent's guard. Brookins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Ivan looking for a sweep. Not yet Ivan, not yet. Brookins won't allow Ivan to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brookins is stalling in the full guard. Brookins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ivan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brookins slips nicely into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Brookins wants to free his trapped foot but Ivan is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ivan is looking to escape. Brookins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Brookins has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Brookins prevents Ivan from getting the reversal. Brookins content just to control the position here. The referee warns Ivan that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brookins controlling from mount. Brookins landing punches. Ivan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Brookins is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ivan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Brookins is breathing heavily. Brookins swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ivan is now in Brookins's guard. A big mistake from Brookins there, giving up the dominant position! Ivan trying to control but Brookins is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brookins is controlling Ivan's posture. Brookins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ivan wants to control from the top but Brookins keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ivan wanted to stand there but Brookins had control of the position. Brookins keeping moving, preventing Ivan from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ivan misses with a takedown attempt so Brookins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brookins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ivan throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Brookins is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ivan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Brookins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Ivan looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Brookins passes into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brookins advances to mount. Brookins has hold of Ivan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ivan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brookins is landing with some decent strikes but Ivan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Brookins looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brookins raining down shots from the mount! Brookins lands with some strikes. Brookins lands with some strikes. Brookins lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ivan hang on?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brookins has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Ivan is forced to tap!
