The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neprostoy misses with a takedown attempt - Barral sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barral leaves Neprostoy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Neprostoy is pushing Barral's head away, looking to escape. Barral manages to hold on to the position though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barral throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Neprostoy was covering up waiting for the punch and Barral finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Neprostoy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Neprostoy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Barral wants to control from the top but Neprostoy keeps moving.

Barral shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Neprostoy pinned against the cage. Neprostoy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Neprostoy or perhaps it was just good defense by Barral which made him look bad.

Neprostoy content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Barral has locked up a guillotine! Barral's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Neprostoy is holding on here and Barral must be using up a lot of energy. Neprostoy has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Barral gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
