Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Up Lok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo R Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). R Santos has chosen Triunfo - EMICIDA as his entrance music. Up Lok has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Up Lok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gustavo R Santos!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lok blocks a head kick by R Santos.
Lok looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
R Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lok.
R Santos scores with the left hand. Lok knows he should have avoided that one.
R Santos with a poor takedown
and Lok counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
R Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lok swats him away and circles back towards the center.

R Santos scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

R Santos is trying to get an arm triangle but Lok is defending well.
R Santos wants to control but Lok is keeping him busy.
R Santos in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
R Santos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lok some visible discomfort.

R Santos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lok knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lok knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for R Santos on the ground.

R Santos decides to stand back up. R Santos steps back and let's Lok get back to his feet.
R Santos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lok counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
R Santos darts in trying to clinch

and Lok counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lok.

R Santos manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Lok stopping the sweep attempt from R Santos.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
R Santos tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lok postures up in R Santos's guard and throws a big left but R Santos blocks it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
R Santos fails with the takedown

and Lok counters with a nice double leg into side control. R Santos won't be happy with that.
Up Lok has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo R Santos.
R Santos is looking to reverse the position.
Lok tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
R Santos tries to bench press Lok off him but Lok keeps the position.

You can see the frustration on R Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lok is trying to move to mount but R Santos reverses beautifully and ends up in Lok's guard.
Lok will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lok throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Up Lok will probably get the nod.

The strikes coming from Lok are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
R Santos is looking to regain half guard here but Lok keeps moving and retains side control.
R Santos can't do much from the bottom here.
Lok tries to get to his feet but R Santos is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Lok in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

R Santos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lok moves away.

so Lok counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
R Santos looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lok puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
R Santos is looking to control Lok's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can R Santos avoid being mounted?
Lok really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
R Santos is looking for a sweep. Lok is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lok is just content to waste time from the top position. R Santos takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
R Santos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Lok counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lok lands a nice short elbow.
Lok takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Lok prevents R Santos from improving his position.
R Santos desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Lok content to control rather than advance.
Up Lok overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
R Santos is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Up Lok dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Lok gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows R Santos to score an easy takedown into full guard.
R Santos wants to get up but he can't break Lok's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lok throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

R Santos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lok's half guard.

Lok is looking for a sweep. R Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lok is trying to maintain the position but R Santos is very close to passing his half guard.

R Santos wants to stand up but Lok has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Gustavo R Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lok has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
