Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jhonny Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Shadows fall - Still I Rise. Corey Alves could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jhonny Cage's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Cage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alves's waist but Alves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cage off to one side.
Alves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Alves misses with a two punch combination.
Cage gets a takedown into half guard.
Alves pushes Cage off looking to stand but Cage dives back in and keeps control.
Cage wants to pass the guard but Alves is defending well.
Alves is looking to escape.
Cage passes to full mount!
Cage is looking to work his way around to Alves's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Cage moves to take his opponent's back.
Alves is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cage gets his way!

Alves is in a bad position with Cage working for a choke. Alves manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Cage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cage manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Alves is trying to escape the mount but Cage keeps good control and instead manages to take Alves's back.

Alves is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Cage is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Alves knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Alves for a finish.

Cage is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alves is defending well though. Cage let's go of the attempt for now.

Cage doesn't have the hooks in and Alves manages to turn into his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cage has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Alves has passed into side control.
Cage is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Alves's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Cage is pressing down on Alves's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cage is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Alves defends well.
Cage manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cage moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Alves has worked his arm free - good work by Alves!

Alves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cage looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Alves tries to bum rush Cage with a series of wild strikes but Cage uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

so Cage counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cage stands and throws Alves's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Alves stops Cage from passing to mount.
Cage moves into full mount!

Cage looking for the choke but no joy.
Alves looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Cage seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Alves's chin but Alves turns very nicely into Cage's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Alves.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cage is on top in guard.

Alves is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Cage has taken his back.
Alves is trying to defend against the choke here but Cage has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Cage Tightens the hold and Alves taps out furiously! Cage displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
