Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mr Woo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Richer!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richer throws a series of punches but Woo moves out of range.
Richer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Woo.
Woo tries to clinch up but Richer circles away and keeps his distance.
Woo tries to clinch but Richer moves out of range.
Woo misses with a takedown attempt - Richer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Woo shoots in for a takedown but Richer shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Woo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Richer lands a jab to the head.

Woo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Richer was covering up waiting for the punch and Woo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Woo stops Richer from standing up.

Woo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Woo prevents Richer from getting back to his feet.

Richer is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Richer but Richer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Richer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Woo.
Richer cracks Woo with a right hand to the side of the head.
Richer throws a right hand that Woo ducks under and follows up with a left that Woo also avoids with ease.

Richer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Richer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Woo backwards.
Woo blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Richer breaks from the clinch.
Woo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Richer sprawls well. Richer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Woo gets slowly back to his feet.

Woo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Woo shoots in but Richer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Woo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Richer leaves Woo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Woo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Richer avoids it really well and circles away.
Jonathan Richer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Richer swings wildly with an uppercut but Woo uses good head movement to avoid it.

Richer manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Mr Woo has been cut.

Woo is breathing heavily.
Richer connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Woo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Woo prevents Richer from standing back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Woo is looking for a kimura here.
Woo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Woo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richer keeps working.

Richer wants to get back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Richer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No joy there for Richer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Woo fails to land the takedown.
Woo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Richer forces Woo back against the cage and clinches.
Richer misses with some punches.
Richer lands a hook to the side of the head.
A short left from Richer.
Richer tries to break free but Woo pushes him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Richer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mr Woo's cut.
That's time! Woo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Richer tries to clinch there but Woo circles away.
Woo fails with the takedown.
Woo shoots in but no luck this time.

Richer moves into the clinch.
Richer can't break the clinch.
Woo blocks an uppercut.
Woo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Richer tries to break free but Woo pushes him back against the cage.

Richer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Richer stuffs the takedown attempt from Woo. Woo gets slowly back to his feet.

Woo closes the distance and clinches up with Richer, looking for a takedown. Woo pushes Richer against the cage but Richer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Richer jabs at Woo's body.
Woo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Woo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Richer lands a two punch combo.
Richer closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Donk. Richer catches Woo right on the button with a cross.

Richer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Woo, pushing him back against the cage.
Richer lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Woo backwards.

Richer scores with a nice hook to the head.
Woo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Richer smiles and moves away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Woo.
Woo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Nice shot lands for Richer.

Richer moves into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Richer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Richer lands with a cross.
Richer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Richer wants it to stay on the feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Richer.

Woo tries for a takedown but Richer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Woo takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Richer rushes Woo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Richer makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Richer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Richer might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Richer lands a two punch combo.
Richer scores with a one two! Woo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Richer lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Richer's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Richer duly obliges.

Mr Woo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Woo has time to react.

Richer drops Woo with a beautiful combination! Woo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Richer is looking for the KO!


Woo is rocked!
Woo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oh Woo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Richer throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Woo stumbling backwards into the cage! Woo bounces back off the cage towards Richer, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Richer lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Richer celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jonathan Richer!
