The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a head kick but Tuskus moves out of range.
Tuskus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Tuskus looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Tuskus wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jones managing to control the position.
Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tuskus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jones is pulling down on Tuskus's head. It's preventing any offense from Tuskus, at least for the moment.
Tuskus should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tuskus drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tuskus's guard.

Jones uses his free foot to push down on Tuskus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tuskus.
Tuskus is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
Tuskus manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Tuskus, under a barage of strikes from Jones.
Jones looks to land a strike but Tuskus avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones throws and elbow that misses. Tuskus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jones's guard. Nice move by Tuskus!

Tuskus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tuskus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.

Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Matt Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matt Jones.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jones postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Tuskus closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tuskus pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jones pushes Tuskus up against the cage in a clinch.
Tuskus looking for a takedown.
Matt Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donaldus Tuskus.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Matt Jones will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Jones moves into range and clinches up with Tuskus.
Tuskus is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jones is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tuskus to the mat. Tuskus regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tuskus sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jones is looking to clinch but Tuskus is avoiding it.

and Tuskus counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.

Tuskus gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tuskus shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tuskus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tuskus avoids it really well and circles away.

and Tuskus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
