The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gailfus gets a takedown into half guard.
Gailfus winds up and cracks Cunanan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gailfus prevents Cunanan from improving his position.
Gailfus is pressing down on Cunanan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cunanan is holding on for now.
Cunanan on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Gailfus seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Cunanan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gailfus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gailfus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gailfus stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Cunanan throws up his legs and catches Gailfus in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Gailfus tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Cunanan! That came out of nowhere!
