The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Methot shoots in but no luck this time.
Methot throws a low kick but it's checked well by Goodwin.
Goodwin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Methot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Methot shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Goodwin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Goodwin tries to free his leg and advance position but Methot is retaining full guard.

Methot keeping moving, preventing Goodwin from controlling successfully.

Methot with a poor takedown

and Goodwin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Methot wants to improve his position but Goodwin is controlling well.

and Goodwin counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Goodwin has knee on belly momentarily but Methot bucks him off and regains half guard.
Methot wants to get back to his feet.

Goodwin is keen to just control but Methot is a slippery customer.
Methot is looking to control Goodwin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Methot avoid being mounted?

Goodwin tries to free his leg and advance position but Methot is retaining full guard.
Goodwin looking to sit in guard and control but Methot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Methot misses with a takedown attempt

and Goodwin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Methot's guard.
Methot is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Methot is pressing down on Goodwin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Goodwin is holding on for now.

Goodwin pushes Methot off and gets back to his feet.
Goodwin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Methot pinned against the cage. Methot gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Methot throws a head kick that misses.
Goodwin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Goodwin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Goodwin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Methot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Methot decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Goodwin's guard.
Methot pushes down on Goodwin's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Goodwin looks like he's trying to stand up.
Tyler Goodwin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Methot frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Goodwin flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Methot throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Goodwin has his hands clasped together but Methot breaks the hold and Goodwin is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Methot!
