Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joel Kuokkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshiro Moto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joel Kuokkanen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joel Kuokkanen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshiro Moto!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moto scores with a takedown into Kuokkanen's guard.
Kuokkanen being controlled here, momentarily.
Moto trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuokkanen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moto drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kuokkanen dives on top into guard.
Moto had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kuokkanen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Moto Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kuokkanen's back instead.
Kuokkanen is trapped and Moto is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Kuokkanen is taking damage to the body and head.
Moto is not going to allow Kuokkanen to sit and survive in this position.
Kuokkanen defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moto wants to control the position but Kuokkanen frees himself and scrambles - Moto manages to regain control in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Moto looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Moto looks gassed!
Moto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kuokkanen sneaks back into half guard.
Kuokkanen tries to roll over but Moto keeps him under control.
Kuokkanen won't allow Moto to pass to mount.
Kuokkanen wants to control but Moto is keeping busy.
Kuokkanen is defending against the submission attempts here by Moto.
Kuokkanen is trying to stand back up but Moto is controlling him

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Moto looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kuokkanen has hold of Moto's hands but Moto slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Moto is working for a submission of some sort.
Moto is trying to control the action in half guard but Kuokkanen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kuokkanen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Moto trying to control from half guard but Kuokkanen is working away.
Kuokkanen trying to control but Moto postures up.
Moto is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Kuokkanen still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Kuokkanen has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Moto tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kuokkanen presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Moto tries to hold on but Kuokkanen pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moto looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Kuokkanen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Moto can't escape the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kuokkanen's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Kuokkanen doesn't have the hooks in and Moto manages to turn into his guard.
Moto works over Kuokkanen with some ground and pound from guard.
Kuokkanen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Moto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Moto postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kuokkanen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Moto, into his guard.
Kuokkanen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Moto looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kuokkanen has picked Moto up and slammed him! Moto can't keep hold of the triangle and Kuokkanen manages to pass to side control!
Moto is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kuokkanen off and has taken his back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moto has his arm under Kuokkanen's chin here. Game over son! Moto squeezes tightly and Kuokkanen is forced to tap out!
