Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Clements!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Louie Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clements closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Castillo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Clements's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Clements's back!
Castillo is persistently looking for the submission but Clements is defending it well.
I really don't envy Clements right now.
Castillo avoiding Clements 's attempts to control his hands.
Clements turns into Castillo and is now in his guard.
Clements is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Castillo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Clements is aware though and is defending well.
Clements wants to control from the top but Castillo keeps moving.
Clements throwing strikes from guard but Castillo blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Castillo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Clements could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Clements stands up and waves to Castillo to follow him.
Castillo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Clements to counter with a crisp jab.
Castillo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Clements counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Castillo's guard now.
Clements distracts Castillo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Clements is looking to stand up but Castillo won't let him.
Castillo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Castillo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Clements frees his head nicely. Oh but Castillo has switched to an armbar! Clements is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
