Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keembo Sluce! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Orton! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Orton clinches up with Sluce and pushes him back against the cage. Sluce drops down looking for an ankle pick but Orton pulls his leg out and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sluce. Orton closes the distance and clinches. Orton prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keembo Sluce. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sluce has picked Orton up - he's going for a ride! Sluce dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Sluce sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Orton defending well though. Sluce wants to pass the guard but Orton is defending well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sluce lands a nice short elbow. A much better position for Orton.

Orton wants to get back to his feet but Sluce is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Orton keeping moving, preventing Sluce from controlling successfully. Sluce postures up in Orton's guard and throws a big left but Orton blocks it. Sluce missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sluce postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sluce drives through with a takedown into guard. Sluce is breathing heavily. Sluce advances position into side control! Sluce stands up and beckons Orton to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Keembo Sluce dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Orton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Orton is pressed up against the cage. Sluce has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Orton down to the mat. Orton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sluce fails with a takedown attempt. Keembo Sluce is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Orton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Sluce is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keembo Sluce. That's going to take a lot out of him. Orton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Sluce gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Orton has control of Sluce's left arm, preventing Sluce from doing any damage. Orton is trying to keep Sluce in close.

Sluce leaves Orton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sluce has his takedown stuffed and Orton counters with a single leg into guard. Sluce didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Orton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Orton thumps Sluce with a low kick. Orton misses with a few strikes there.
Orton moves into the clinch. Orton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sluce blocks it with crossed arms. Orton lands a body punch in the clinch. Orton digs a right hand into Sluce's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sluce's gas tank. Orton manages to pull guard.
Orton kicks Sluce off and gets to his feet. Orton gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Orton lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Orton looking to slow down the pace here. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Orton. Orton lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Sluce. Orton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Sluce drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Orton dives on top into guard. Sluce looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Orton has picked Sluce up and slammed him! Sluce can't keep hold of the triangle and Orton manages to pass to side control! Sluce tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Orton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Orton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sluce keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sluce tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Orton presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Orton trying to control but he's not successful this time. Orton controlling his opponent. Sluce keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Keembo Sluce overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Orton tries to control but Sluce wriggling away. Sluce is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Orton content just to control the position here. Orton looking to control but Sluce is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
