Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Veloso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mair Amaral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mair Amaral! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amaral shoots in and drives through. Veloso sprawls well. A nice leg kick lands there from Veloso. Amaral closes this distance looking for a takedown but Veloso circles away. Mair Amaral seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Veloso as Amaral shoots in. Tomas Veloso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mair Amaral. Amaral misses with a takedown attempt - Veloso sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nice sprawl there from Veloso as Amaral shoots in. Veloso shoots in and bounces Amaral off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amaral is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Amaral looks gassed! Amaral keeping full guard, as Veloso tries to pass. Veloso wants to control from the top but Amaral keeps moving. Veloso has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Amaral is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veloso controls from within his opponent's guard. Veloso wants to control from the top but Amaral keeps moving. Veloso wanted to stand there but Amaral had control of the position. Veloso pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Amaral is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Amaral doesn't succeed with the takedown and Veloso counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veloso working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Amaral seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Veloso is stalling in the full guard. Veloso is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Amaral looking to hit a scissor sweep but Veloso is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amaral throws his legs up looking for a submission but Veloso uses it to pass to side control.
Veloso wants to control but Amaral is keeping him busy. Amaral manages to work his way to half guard, despite Veloso's best efforts. The fighters are battling for position here. Amaral manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Amaral looking for subs off his back but Veloso has passed one foot through into half guard.
Amaral is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Amaral is looking for a sweep. Veloso is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Veloso is keen to just control but Amaral is a slippery customer. Amaral is trying to stand back up but Veloso is controlling him

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Amaral fails with the takedown and Veloso counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomas Veloso dominated that round. That's time! Veloso's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Veloso shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Amaral napping and manages to drive through into side control! Amaral manages to get back to half guard. Veloso stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Amaral to get to his feet. Amaral shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Veloso wants to control but Amaral is keeping busy and won't allow it. Amaral is trying to control. Veloso wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Amaral might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Veloso kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veloso tries to roll over but Amaral keeps him under control. Amaral uses his free foot to push down on Veloso's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Veloso. Veloso is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Veloso is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Amaral swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
