Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Arabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sousa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pose - daddy yankee kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arabi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Arabi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sousa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Arabi postures up.
Arabi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Arabi wants to pass the guard but Sousa is keeping the position. Sousa is trying to keep Arabi in close.
Arabi prevents Sousa from getting back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Arabi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sousa can't keep his opponent in guard - Arabi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Arabi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Arabi wants to pass to mount but Sousa is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arabi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sousa has managed to free his arm - good work. Sousa trying to hold on to Arabi's head to control him but Arabi postures up.
Sousa throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Arabi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Arabi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Arabi is breathing heavily. Arabi decides to stand and escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sousa wants to clinch. Sousa fails with the takedown so Arabi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sousa throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Sousa pulls Arabi in close to prevent any damage. Arabi postures up.
Sousa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Arabi is controlling him. Sousa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arabi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arabi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sousa trying to control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Arabi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Arabi lands in his opponent's guard. Sousa is trying to keep Arabi in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Arabi stopping the sweep attempt from Sousa. Sousa controls Arabi momentarily but Arabi frees himself. Sousa wants to sweep here but Arabi controlling him for the moment. Arabi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sousa, up you get! Sousa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Arabi napping and manages to drive through into side control! Arabi is trying to improve his position. Sousa working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Arabi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Arabi shoots for a double leg takedown but Sousa sprawls well. He's pushed Arabi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sousa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Arabi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Arabi. Sousa avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Sousa controls Arabi momentarily but Arabi frees himself. Sousa keeping full guard, as Arabi tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sousa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Arabi is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Arabi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sousa is keeping the position for now. Arabi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sousa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Arabi. No joy for Sousa on that attempt. Sousa shoots and misses and Arabi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sousa's guard now. Rodrigo Arabi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Sousa. Arabi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sousa working a defensive guard but Arabi manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sousa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Arabi's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Arabi! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Sousa has tapped! This one is allllll over!
