The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Malone looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Malone walks into a left hand.
Malone slips under a jab.
Malone throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Jones tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Malone dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jones. That did some damage!

Malone throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
