The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pienarr tries to clinch but Carter is having none of it. Carter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pienarr sprawls well. Pienarr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carter gets slowly back to his feet. Pienarr throws a looping overhand right but Carter ducks down to avoid it. Nice shot by Carter. Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pienarr circles away quickly and effectively. A jab lands there for Pienarr.
It looks like Chris Carter has been cut. Carter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Carter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pienarr is surviving well by controlling Carter's body position as best he can. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pienarr manages to control the position for a moment. The referee warns Pienarr that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pienarr hang on? Carter raining down shots from the mount! Carter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Carter looking to secure an arm triangle but Pienarr defends it well. Carter throws some wild stikes that Pienarr manages to avoid easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pienarr tries to lock up and control but Carter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Carter dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chris Carter's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Carter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Carter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Carter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pienarr, who protects the arm well. Pienarr wants to get back to his feet but Carter drags him back down.

No, Pienarr has escaped the position, nice work there. Carter working the ground and pound but Pienarr is defending the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pienarr tries to escape but Carter is in control. Carter working away. Carter in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Pienarr is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
