Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alfaro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
silva connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

It looks like JeRoMe Alfaro has been cut.
silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alfaro sprawls well. Alfaro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Alfaro tries to clinch up but silva circles away and keeps his distance.

Alfaro drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alfaro is one step ahead there.

Alfaro stands up and waves to silva to follow him.

silva throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Alfaro has managed to clinch.
silva jumps guard but Alfaro stands there with silva around his waist. silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
silva is looking to control Alfaro's arms but Alfaro gets an underhook and turns him. Now silva has his back to the cage.

Alfaro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Alfaro counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. silva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Alfaro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alfaro has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Alfaro wants to stand and escape but silva is having none of it.
silva wants to control from the top but Alfaro keeps moving.
silva is breathing heavily.

silva wants to stand and escape but instead Alfaro has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alfaro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alfaro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

silva is looking to regain half guard here but Alfaro keeps moving and retains side control.
Alfaro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

silva tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Alfaro presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Alfaro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as silva walks away with a smile on his face. Alfaro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

silva takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Alfaro turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Alfaro stands up.
Alfaro stuffs the takedown attempt from silva. silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Alfaro throws a head kick but silva moves out of range.
silva darts in trying to clinch
and Alfaro finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Alfaro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Excellent takedown into side control there by silva.
silva wants to control but Alfaro is keeping him busy.
Alfaro is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alfaro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alfaro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
silva wants to stand but Alfaro has his arm trapped.

Alfaro lands a big head kick that sends silva to the canvas! Alfaro follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
