Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aruneru Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aruneru Hero has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aruneru Hero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Morris!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hero looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Morris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Morris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hero tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hero lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Morris!
Morris really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Hero looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The referee warns Morris that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Morris is trying to escape the mount.
Hero throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Morris is looking to improve his position but Hero isn't that keen on the idea.

The fighters are battling for position here. Morris manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Morris is pulling down on Hero's head to control his posture.

Morris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hero is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Morris is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Morris has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morris looking to sit in guard and control but Hero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Morris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hero defends well.

Hero wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.
Morris tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hero postures up.

Morris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hero in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hero throwing strikes from guard but Morris blocks nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hero rushes Morris and presses him up against the cage.

Hero has Morris pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hero pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Morris tumbling to the mat - Hero dives into Morris's guard.
Morris preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Morris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hero trying to control but Morris is working from the bottom.

Hero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morris works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hero gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Morris shoots in for a double leg but Hero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Aruneru Hero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hero lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hero is looking to work some ground and pound but Morris has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aruneru Hero dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Morris shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hero napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Morris tries to move to mount but Hero blocks the move with his legs.

Morris is working to tighten is grip on Hero's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hero has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Morris is really squeezing tight and eventually Hero passes out! Morris breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Akira Morris!
