Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Mensah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willie Mcghee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mensah comes to the cage accompanied by Pour Some Sugar On Me. Mcghee is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dropkick Murphys - The Warrior's Code. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenneth Mensah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willie Mcghee! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mensah throws a jab when Mcghee was well out of range. Mcghee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mcghee stopping the sweep attempt from Mensah. Mcghee sitting in guard, not really doing much. Mcghee wants to control from the top but Mensah keeps moving. Mensah can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcghee controls the pace. Mcghee preventing the sweep. Mensah looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Mensah throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mcghee sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mensah shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcghee napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mcghee bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Mcghee throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mensah ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mcghee lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mensah will feel that in the morning. Mensah swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mensah drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mensah throws a strike but Mcghee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mensah can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcghee controls the pace. Mensah throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Mensah on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mensah tries to get out of the position. Mcghee lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Mcghee pushes down on Mensah's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mcghee controlling the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mensah wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nice strikes from Mcghee there. Mcghee content to control rather than advance. Mensah is looking to improve his position.

Mcghee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mensah is just riding it out for now. Mcghee eventually gives up the hold. Mcghee wants to free his trapped foot but Mensah is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mcghee looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Mensah works his way to full guard. Good work. Mensah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mensah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mcghee's guard. Mensah postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mensah is breathing heavily. Mcghee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mcghee is in the full mount, landing strikes. Mensah is looking to get to half guard. Mcghee working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Mensah really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mcghee raining down shots from the mount! Mensah is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Willie Mcghee dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mcghee. Mcghee dodges the punch combination from Mensah.
Mcghee feints and as Mensah raises his hands in defense, Mcghee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcghee stands up over Mensah, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mensah can't keep his opponent in guard - Mcghee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mcghee works his foot free and advances to mount. Mcghee with shots to the head and body - Mensah looks very uncomfortable down there. Mcghee landing shots from mount. Mensah is working to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Willie Mcghee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mcghee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
