Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Ripper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brett Johnson! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ripper. Ripper clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the cage. Ripper stalling the fight.
Ripper seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Ripper has Johnson pressed against the cage, preventing Johnson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ripper stalling in the clinch.
Ripper lands a nice elbow. Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ripper has him pressed against the cage. Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but Ripper won't allow it.

Ripper lands a damaging elbow. Ripper has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Johnson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Ripper is persistently looking for the submission but Johnson is defending it well.

Ripper is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Johnson. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ripper patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson trying to control but not successfully. Johnson avoids the strikes from Ripper. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson is really stuck here.
Johnson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Ripper has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Ripper is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Johnson is defending well though. Ripper let's go of the attempt for now. I really don't envy Johnson right now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ripper gets his way!

That sent Ripper stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.

Brett Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Ripper is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ripper drops an elbow to the side of Johnson's head. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ripper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ripper is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well. Johnson tries to roll over but Ripper keeps him under control. Jack Ripper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ripper missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson trying to control from the bottom.

Ripper is really struggling to control Johnson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Ripper is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ripper.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Ripper. I think Ripper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
