Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conan Barbarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Colon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conan Barbarian!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barbarian closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Colon to the mat! Colon manages to get full guard.
Colon wants to stand but Barbarian is controlling the position.
Barbarian trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Barbarian must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Barbarian preventing the sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Colon wants to stand but Barbarian is controlling the position.
Barbarian with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Barbarian throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Colon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Barbarian throws a strike but Colon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Barbarian looking for a sweep. Not yet Barbarian, not yet.
Colon wants to pass the guard but Barbarian is keeping the position.
Barbarian looking to hit a scissor sweep but Colon is one step ahead there.

Colon stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Barbarian swinging wildly here.

Colon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Colon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Colon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Colon stalling away here and it's allowed Barbarian to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Barbarian wants to sweep but no luck.

Barbarian has a closed guard, preventing Colon from standing up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barbarian can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Colon won't allow Barbarian to sweep him here.
Colon wants to pass the guard but Barbarian is keeping the position.
Barbarian thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Colon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Barbarian rushes Colon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Barbarian makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Colon stops a takedown attempt from Barbarian.

Barbarian has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Colon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Colon trying to get back to his feet but Barbarian is in full control for now.

Barbarian is trying to stick to Colon's back but Colon is turning into Barbarian. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Barbarian's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Colon.

Colon gets to his feet - Barbarian follows without any prompting.
Colon throws a head kick that misses.
Barbarian fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Colon avoids it really well and circles away.
Colon misses with the combination.
Colon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Colon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Barbarian forces Colon back against the cage and clinches.
Colon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Colon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barbarian has his takedown stuffed
and Colon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
John Colon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conan Barbarian.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barbarian.
Barbarian tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Colon swivels and escapes.

Barbarian shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Barbarian was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Colon wants to try and get back to his feet.
Colon sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Barbarian with the ground and pound but Colon uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Barbarian tries to free his leg and advance position but Colon is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Colon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Barbarian shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barbarian showed some decent athleticism there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barbarian accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Colon pushes Barbarian off looking to stand but Barbarian dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Colon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Barbarian scores with a couple of nice shots.

Barbarian is working for a kimura but Colon is defending it quite comfortably.
Colon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Colon.

Barbarian thows a big elbow that misses.
Barbarian working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Colon's head.

Colon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barbarian defends well.

Colon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barbarian can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Colon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barbarian is controlling him.

A close second round but Conan Barbarian will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Colon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barbarian circles away quickly and effectively.

Colon is staying active underneath Barbarian, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Barbarian is nestled in close to Colon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Colon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Barbarian is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Colon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Colon has escaped and now he's on top!

Barbarian manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Colon is wriggling around trying to escape.
You get the feeling that Colon really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barbarian lands a nice shot to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Colon showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Colon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
