Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Sandman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxi Carnage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sandman's entrance music is Enter Sandman. A fine choice. Carnage has chosen DMX - No Sunshine as his entrance music. The key to victory for Shawn Sandman has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Maxi Carnage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandman slips a jab and a cross from Carnage.
Carnage takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sandman misses with a looping right.
Sandman lands with a nice body punch.
Sandman throws a big shot that misses.
Sandman swats away the attempt to clinch by Carnage.
Carnage takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Carnage staying out of range there.
Sandman lands with a cross.
Carnage throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carnage moves away from the strike by Sandman.
Carnage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sandman as he jumps to the side.
Sandman misses with a body shot.

Sandman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Carnage moves out of range of the strikes.
Carnage displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sandman throws out the jab.
Carnage tries to clinch up but Sandman circles away and keeps his distance.
Sandman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Sandman looks to throw the jab but Carnage is out of range.

Carnage gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sandman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sandman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sandman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Sandman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Carnage looks gassed!
Sandman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Carnage counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carnage.

Carnage throws and elbow that misses. Sandman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carnage's guard. Nice move by Sandman!

Carnage has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sandman is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Carnage.

Carnage tries to buck Sandman off but Sandman is having none of it.
Carnage is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Sandman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carnage keeps working.

Sandman tries for a kimura but Carnage is defending well.

Carnage tries to bench press Sandman off him but Sandman keeps the position.
Carnage sneaks back into half guard.
Sandman is thwarting Carnage's attempts to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carnage makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carnage.

Carnage throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sandman uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sandman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carnage throws a head kick that misses.
Sandman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carnage.

It looks like Maxi Carnage has been cut.

Carnage takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Carnage seems to have recovered his senses.
Carnage is breathing heavily.
Carnage gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sandman.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sandman. Carnage does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shawn Sandman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Carnage counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sandman!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sandman wants to control but Carnage is having none of it.

Carnage goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sandman turns into him and now he's in Carnage's guard.

Sandman wants to control from the top but Carnage keeps moving.
Sandman tries to free his leg and advance position but Carnage is retaining full guard.

Carnage is wriggling around but Sandman manages to pass to half guard.
Sandman is thwarting Carnage's attempts to control the position.
Sandman wants to advance to full mount but Carnage doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carnage is trying to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here as Sandman stalls from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carnage regains half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Carnage is staying active underneath Sandman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sandman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carnage circles away quickly and effectively.
Carnage moves forwards but Sandman connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sandman throws a big shot that misses.
Carnage is looking to clinch but Sandman is avoiding it.
Sandman misses with a hook.
Sandman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Carnage shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carnage was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Carnage moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sandman has worked his arm free - good work by Sandman!

Carnage swings around for an armbar but Sandman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carnage's guard.
Carnage takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sandman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Carnage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sandman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Carnage wants to sweep here but Sandman controlling him for the moment.
Sandman trying to control the position from guard on top but Carnage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Carnage looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sandman passes into side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Carnage is being controlled here.
Carnage is trying to control Sandman's posture but Sandman avoids it.
Sandman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carnage keeps working.
Carnage is trying to escape the position but Sandman is controlling the position.
Carnage tries to improve position but can't.
Carnage struggling a bit here.

Sandman is looking to take a break and control but Carnage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sandman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Carnage can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sandman throws out a loose jab but Carnage uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sandman throws a nice looking combination but Carnage bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Carnage fails in his attempt to clinch.

Carnage looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Carnage seems to be working for a kimura but Sandman defends the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Maxi Carnage.
I think Sandman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
