Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kid Cudi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathanial Hornblower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hornblower scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hornblower is working for a kimura but Cudi is defending it quite comfortably.
Hornblower is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hornblower winds up and cracks Cudi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hornblower feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cudi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hornblower seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hornblower has his foot on Cudi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cudi works his way back into a safe position though.

Hornblower stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cudi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hornblower looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cudi is fending him off so far but Hornblower persists. Nope, Cudi circles away and we're back to standing.

Hornblower walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A left and a right from Cudi both land. Nice combination.
Hornblower tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cudi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hornblower somewhat.
Kid Cudi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathanial Hornblower.
Hornblower takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Hornblower fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cudi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hornblower stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
