Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Sebastien Blais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blais has chosen Metallica - One as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Paul Jones has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paul Jones seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones looks for the body kick but Blais saw that one coming.
Blais fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Blais misses with the combination.

and Blais counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones has his hands on Blais's head, controlling the position.
Jones is looking for a triangle but Blais pushes his legs off easily.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blais's guard.
Blais looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Blais has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Blais is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Blais's head back.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Blais steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jones. That one must have hurt.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Blais has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Jones.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones leaves Blais with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Blais dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Blais's head and hops out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Blais takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Blais swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
