The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker fails with the takedown.

Escobedo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tucker is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Escobedo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Escobedo pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Tucker tries for a takedown but Escobedo manages to get underhooks.
David Escobedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Tucker.
Escobedo tries to pull guard but Tucker holds him up against the cage and eventually Escobedo drops back down to his feet.
Escobedo landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Tucker looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Escobedo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tucker is defending well for now.

Escobedo tries to land knees in the clinch but Tucker avoids the damage to the body.
Escobedo is working for takedown but Tucker is calmly controlling the position for now.
Escobedo just leaning against Tucker, taking a breather.
Escobedo jumps guard but Tucker stands there with Escobedo around his waist. Escobedo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Escobedo tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Tucker can't get the takedown.

Escobedo decides to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Escobedo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tucker is one step ahead there.
Escobedo is controlling Tucker's posture.

Escobedo manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Escobedo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Escobedo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tucker defend it? Escobedo steps over the head and cranks it - Tucker is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Escobedo!
