The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goto fails with the takedown.
Goto throws a body punch but Wolfgang moves out of range.
Goto throws a right and a left that both miss.

Wolfgang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Goto has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wolfgang avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Goto has Wolfgang pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wolfgang manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Goto swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wolfgang.

Wolfgang fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Goto, pushing him back against the cage.

Goto cracks Wolfgang with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Goto lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goto perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Wolfgang tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Goto counters with a shoot takedown. Wolfgang fights it but they end up in guard.
Wolfgang had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Goto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wolfgang Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Goto's back instead.
Goto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Goto staying busy and making it hard for Wolfgang to control.
Wolfgang misses with punches from the back.
Goto controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Goto covering up well under a barage of strikes.

Wolfgang is not going to allow Goto to sit and survive in this position.
Daigo Goto has got the better of the ground game so far.
Goto is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Wolfgang is staying active.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Wolfgang goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Goto turns into him and now he's in Wolfgang's guard.

Wolfgang wants to free his trapped foot but Goto is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Daigo Goto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
