Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kazuo Yamazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junkyard Dog has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kazuo Yamazaki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kazuo Yamazaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junkyard Dog!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dog shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yamazaki is trying to defend but Dog finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dog slips a nice elbow through Yamazaki's hands, connecting with Yamazaki's forehead.
Dog looks to land a strike but Yamazaki avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Dog missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Dog lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yamazaki circles away quickly and effectively.

Yamazaki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dog really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yamazaki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dog can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Yamazaki wants to stand but Dog is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Dog is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Dog tries to reverse the position but Yamazaki maintains control.
Yamazaki unloads with some shots from mount but Dog bucks and avoids them well.
Yamazaki manages to capitalize on a mistake by Dog to take his back!

Yamazaki is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dog has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Dog is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Dog should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Yamazaki has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dog has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That was a close round but I would say that Kazuo Yamazaki will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Dog counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yamazaki won't be happy with that.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kazuo Yamazaki.

Dog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No joy there for Yamazaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dog has eaten all the pies!

Junkyard Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Junkyard Dog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
